Breast Imaging Radiologist, Boston Medical Center
Boston Medical Center, the primary teaching affiliate of Boston University School of Medicine and the largest safety net hospital in New England, is seeking an energetic and dynamic radiologist to join a team of 10 breast imaging radiologists who value their close, collaborative relationships with each other and members of the multidisciplinary breast care team. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Full and part time candidates will be considered.
Annually, the section performs over 40,000 imaging exams primarily serving a diverse patient population from the immediate and greater Boston area. The Boston Medical Center health system consists of the main hospital, a not-for-profit, 487-bed, academic medical center located in Boston's historic South End, and multiple integrated community health centers. Being co-located with the Belkin Breast Health Center, the individual would be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides “exceptional care without exception”, the medical center’s motto.
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in all aspects of breast imaging, including screening and diagnostic mammography, contrast-enhanced mammography, breast ultrasound, MRI, and multimodality image-guided breast interventions. Candidates should also be committed to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows and to supporting and expanding the research mission. The department welcomes 9 diagnostic radiology residents and 1 integrated interventional radiology resident each year. The breast section also offers a breast fellowship that trains one fellow annually. Boston Medical Center is currently one of the TMIST sites having recruited over 1500 women to date. Other current research interests include health care disparities, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and contrast-enhanced mammography. The department provides faculty with protected academic time and administrative and biostatistical support. Applicants should meet the following qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or foreign equivalent
- Fellowship training in breast imaging or the equivalent
- American Board of Radiology Certified or Eligible with an unrestricted license to practice medicine in
Massachusetts
- Experienced MQSA-qualified breast imaging radiologist
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, research and clinical care
- Experience with quality improvement and informatics desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
- Demonstrated ethical conduct and professionalism
